Mr. David Odjidja

On behalf of the Board of Governors, PTA, Staff & Students of the Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, Legon, I formally welcome you to the official website of PRESEC.

The school, which was formally opened by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Odumase-Krobo in February 1938 with 16 students and four teachers with Mr. E. A. W. Engman as the first Headmaster relocated to its present site in 1968. The vision of the Presbyterian Church, in establishing this institution, was to give students excellent Academic training according to the Presbyterian Principles and Traditions (the proverbial Presbyterian Discipline).

It has, since its establishment, remained one of Ghana’s best performing Secondary Schools in the West African sub-region, with Discipline and Christian training being its Hallmark.

We pay glowing tribute to the Founding fathers for their vision, the illustrious pioneers and all those who had the rare opportunity to work in or associate with PRESEC for their toils and years of sacrifice which has given the school such a prestigious and enviable reputation.

We are indeed proud of the distinguished men and women of substance who passed through the school as students and are today found in all sectors over the world as progressive agents of positive change and responsible ambassadors (Ɔdadeɛ) of PRESEC. Indeed, our products are Globally Unique because PRESEC Students are consciously imbued with the profound message in the School’s Motto and Anthem “In Lumine Tuo, Videbimus Lumen” (In Thy Light, We Shall See Light).

The school currently has over 3500 exuberant students with 180 dedicated Teachers and over 80 selfless Non-teaching staff. The school runs five programmes: Science, Agric, General Arts, Business and Visual Arts; with Science being the dominant programme. There are also 10 Boarding Houses, some of which were named after prominent individuals (such as Kwansa, Clerk, Engmann, Riis, Owusu Parry, Arko Adjei, etc) whose contributions to the solid foundation of PRESEC cannot be overlooked.

I use this opportunity to express our utmost gratitude and appreciation to our vibrant Stakeholders, particularly our Board of Governors, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and our Old Boys (Ɔdadeɛ) for their immeasurable support and assistance.

Once again I warmly welcome you to this official Website which is expected to reach out to the world in telling the excellent story of PRESEC.  Remember we have a collective duty and high responsibility to make PRESEC better than we came to meet it.  Indeed, we have an obligation to help PRESEC consolidate its academic supremacy over other second cycle institutions across Africa.

May this website be the springboard for expanding the frontiers of our achievements as a school of Choice and an institution of Academic Excellence.  Thank you

“In Lumine Tuo Videbimus Lumen”
